Prices or balances not updating

Technical Issues

Trading pages get live prices, order book, recent trades and your balances through a live connection. If that connection drops, BYNAI tells you and protects you from trading on old numbers. This article explains every indicator and what to do.

Connection indicator (bottom bar)

On a computer or tablet, the futures trading page has a thin bar at the bottom. The first item shows the live connection:

IndicatorMeaning
Green dot and "Stable connection"Live data is flowing normally.
Amber dot and "Reconnecting..."The live connection dropped and BYNAI is trying to restore it.
Red dot and "Disconnected"There is no live connection, or your device itself is offline.

The bar is hidden on phone-size screens. On a phone, use the badges below and the order form warnings.

"Reconnecting..." badge on panels

When the live connection drops, a small badge "Reconnecting..." appears over the order book and the recent trades panel. The recent trades badge can also show "Last updated: {seconds}s ago", with the number of seconds since the last update. The numbers behind the badge are the last values received, so do not rely on them.

"Trading is temporarily disabled" warnings

BYNAI treats data as outdated when no valid update has arrived for about 5 seconds for the order book and recent trades, or about 10 seconds for balances. In the order form you see one of these amber messages:

  • "Orderbook data may be outdated. Trading is temporarily disabled."
  • "Balance data may be outdated. Trading is temporarily disabled."

While the warning shows, the Buy/Long and Sell/Short buttons (and Preview for scaled orders) are disabled, so you cannot send an order from old data. The warning goes away on its own once fresh data arrives. The warning only stops new orders from being sent from this form. After you reconnect, check Orders and Positions to see their current state.

Other messages

  • "Couldn't load market data. Check your connection and try again." with a Try again button: the page could not get market data at all. Check your connection and press Try again.
  • "Maintenance Notice: This symbol is temporarily unavailable. Trading data may be limited.": shown on a futures pair when data for that pair is only partly available. Try another pair or come back later, and check Announcements.

What BYNAI does automatically

  • It keeps trying to reconnect the live connection.
  • If the connection stays down for about 10 seconds, BYNAI switches to refreshing key data (balances, positions, order book and prices) in the background at intervals. This can be slower than live data. When the live connection returns, it goes back to live updates.
  • If the order book stays empty while the connection looks fine, BYNAI also tries to reload it by itself.

What you can do

  1. Check your internet: Wi-Fi, mobile data, airplane mode, VPN. If your device is offline, the bar shows "Disconnected".
  2. Wait a few seconds for "Reconnecting..." to turn back into "Stable connection".
  3. Refresh the page (or close and reopen the app).
  4. Try another network, such as mobile data instead of Wi-Fi, or turn off a VPN.
  5. Close other tabs with BYNAI open, because many tabs on a weak connection can slow updates.
  6. Check Announcements.

Frequently asked questions

Can I still place orders while it says "Reconnecting..."? Order buttons are disabled when the order book or balances are marked outdated. If they are enabled, data is currently fresh.

My balance looks wrong or has not changed after a deposit or trade. If you see the balance warning, wait for data to refresh. For deposits, see the Deposits articles for statuses.

Are my positions at risk when I am disconnected? BYNAI does not state any special protection during a disconnect. Reconnect as soon as you can, then check Orders and Positions to see their current state.

The price I see differs from another website. Prices from other sources can differ. Use the BYNAI price shown when your connection is stable.
