Funding rate history page

The Funding Rate History page ("Historical funding rate data for perpetual contracts") shows past funding rates for a contract. It is public and does not show your own payments; your own funding fees are in Transaction History with the type Funding Fee (see Position and transaction history).

What funding rate means

"The funding rate is a mechanism used in perpetual futures contracts to keep the contract price close to the underlying asset's spot price. When the funding rate is positive, long position holders pay short position holders. When negative, short position holders pay long position holders. Funding payments occur every 8 hours."

More in Futures fees and funding.

How to open it

  • From the futures trading page, click the funding rate in the ticker bar (Funding / Countdown) and choose View Funding Rate History, or on a phone open More and choose Funding history.
  • Or from the Fees page link View funding rate history.

How to use it

  1. Pick a contract with the symbol box (shown with the label "Perpetual"). Type in "Search symbol..." to filter; if nothing matches you see "No symbols found". The default is BTCUSDT.
  2. Choose the Time range: Last 24h, Last 7 days or Last 30 days (default Last 7 days).
  3. Read the cards: Current Funding Rate, Mark Price, Next Funding Time.
  4. The chart Funding Rate History plots the rates. If there is nothing to show: "No data available".
  5. The table has the columns Time, Funding Interval, Funding Rate, Mark Price, 10 rows per page, with "Showing 1 - 10 of the total records" and First, Previous, Next and Last page buttons. The page loads up to 1000 records for the range and refreshes about every 10 seconds.
  6. Save as CSV downloads the table for the selected contract as a file named like "BTCUSDT_funding_rate_history.csv" with the columns Time, Funding Interval, Funding Rate and Mark Price.
  7. Trade Futures opens the trading page.

Positive rates are shown for longs paying shorts, negative for shorts paying longs. The ticker bar pop-up also shows Current Rate, Previous Rate and their Annualized values.

FAQ

Is this my funding payment? No, it is the market funding rate. Your payment depends on the rate and your position size at funding time.

Why is there no data? The contract may be new (see Pre-Trading in Mark, last and index price) or the range has no records. Try a longer range.

How often is funding charged? The page says every 8 hours.

When to contact Support

Send the contract, the time range, the rows you question and screenshots of the page and of your Transaction History Funding Fee entry.

Safety reminder

Funding can add up to a significant cost on long-held positions. Never share your password, 2FA code, seed phrase or private key.
